“Talcott Mountain Branches,” 35mm black and white film, 2021

"Talcott Mountain Branches” is an image that I took during a hike in Talcott Mountain State Park. The park spans across three towns in Connecticut: Avon, Bloomfield, and Simsbury.
This image marks the first time I started to experiment with the intentional overexposing black and white negatives to achieve a grainy look. I continue to use this method in my
photographic practice to create a dream-like quality in my imagery. The park is meaningful to me because I visited it throughout my college career with friends to attend the “Hike to the Mic,” an annual free outdoor concert that takes place at the top of the mountain.
